BEN CHAN: I had a pair of new sandals not fitting my feet. I simply wanted to make one of the strips shorter and I thought it's an easy job. However, I went to two shoe makers and none of them could do that for me! One of them recommended me this shop. It's not so close to my place but I thought ok just give it a try. The shoe maker immediately knew what to do. He also sped it up for me so that I could pick it up on the same day. The MOST amazing thing was, he did what we agreed on, but the sandals still didn't fit. He didn't just leave it, but asked me to put it off and did the adjustment again for me! And the price is also lower than I thought. I give 10/10. And I was so sorry that I didn't ask for his name so that I can say thank you again here. But, thank you!

It's been 2 years since I repaired them there and they still look great. This place also does key copies -- 5€ per key is absolutely cheap compared to 15-17€ across the street. But most importantly, VERY friendly, kind and professional staff!!
David Sigley: I asked for a belt resizing and they cut it so short it now only fits on the last hole. After bringing this up with the gentleman that worked there he tells me this was intended (Despite our conversation the day before where I asked for it to fit me on the middle hole). While I appreciate an excuse not to gain weight, I now have a belt which will likely no longer fit me soon and was delivered to me by a very unapologetic shop keeper. Don't take anything you value to this place.

Elizabeth Ramos Goncalves: The worst shop from Amsterdam do not go ! He stolled me by asking me 20€ for shoes that he repaired horribly and broke again after 1 day. He does not know at all how to repair shoes. Furthermore I went back to have them repair again which he did not wanted. He is very not welcoming !!
Yorick Stuurman: Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueI didn't check the reviews before I entered. €260 brand new suede shoes. Within the first week I made an oil stainon one of the shoes. I decided to go a ‘specialist’. Cleaning costs me €37.50. Completely ruined the suede. Very rude in his communication. Don’t come here with brand new shoes.

For many years I have been his client and I have always received the best of services, repairs and advice. He was recommended to me years ago as the best shoemaker in Amsterdam. Shoes, boots, bags, suede coats, keys: he is always able to find the right solution, using the best materials, to make sure that I can use and wear them for a long time. I highly recommend his services!
Joao Driessen: Unfortunately very poor price to quality ratio. Do not have sneakers or sport shoes repaired here. I managed to ruin my favourite running shoes bringing them here. Required repair of foam support behind ankles, was talked into extra heel repair. Had to haggle to have the shoes repaired within 7 days, charged 76.50 EUR (cash only, no receipt + no guarantee). Shoes came back in poor condition, bits of glue everywhere, poorly sanded, foam support behind ankles removed and replaced with a hard leather which was partially glued. heels raised (again not suitable for running) and not properly finished. Tried to sell me new soles not suitable for running on the way out.
A OA: Very, very, bad, will never go again. The guy overcharges ridiculously, takes way too long (he needed 4 days to do 2 pairs of shoes), and is unfriendly. He tried to charge me 150 EUR for 3 pairs of shoes, we ended up agreeing I'd pay 50 for 2 pairs, which was still at least 20 Euros too much. I should have gone to the, much better, nicer, and cheaper Shoe Point, a little further into Kinkerstraat.
Alexander Bynum: This man did a terrible job cleaning my shoes. I paid 20 euro to have my shoes cleaned and polished and when I returned, my shoes were literally in the exact same condition that I dropped them off in. When I tried to explain it to him, he seemed to think it was normal that he was unable to polish out the scuffs, dirt and stains on the shoes. I know this is possible and I have paid way less to have this done to my shoes. I do not recommend going here to have your shoes cleaned.
Ali May: Unfriendly, unreliable and overpriced (I was also asked 30 Eur for putting a new zipper, which he told me "would break if I pulled too fast". Everything you don't want from a shoe repair shop.

John Lion: Never go here, this is the biggest rip off in Amsterdam. I wanted to have a new pair of shoes stretched and I had to pay 20 euros for this. (The shoemaker I normally go to in the Kinkerstraat was temporarily closed.) Because I wanted to take my new shoes with me on vacation, I decided to go to this shoemaker. I should never have done that because I'm really screwed up. So I had to pay 20 euros for stretching a pair of shoes. When inquiring at another cobbler, the usual price is 5 to 6 euros.

Pia E: Friendly and fast service but one of my repaired items, unfortunately, broke again after just one use. It was especially surprising because I had considered that item the easiest to fix by far. I would go back nonetheless though because everything else was done very well and the opening hours are more flexible than other places I have found.

Elaine. .sierra: I've been coming to this shop on and off for years. After moving out of the neighborhood and trying other shoe-repair shops I find myself making the extra trip out here. I still come to this shop because: a) the cobbler sets reasonable prices for his work and works with you to find a solution to your shoe-issue. b) my shoes are usually fixed up and ready to go within two days. c) the cobbler does a quality job whereas my shoes have virtually fallen apart after letting other cobblers "repair" them. Give it a go!
Dena Og: NOT recommended AT ALL !!!! I had a very bad Experience with him. He was very rude ! And he charged a lot for a very simple work on my sneakers !! And He used very cheap and low quality plastic to fix my Mussimmo Dutti leather boots !!! Even 1 Star is way too much for the service I got !!

Monika Grabek: Terrible customer service. I left a pair of boots for a week for them to be stretched. They forgot. Then instead of offering right away to do it, the woman starts asking "do you really need them stretched?" like trying to talk me out of the service so they don't have to do it. And then got like really rude direct when I was shocked and said of course I want to do it - why else would I come here. It's mind boggling. The logic of their customer service does not make any sense to me. And never was there an offer to waive the cost for inconvenience. There are plenty of good cobblers in Amsterdam even in that area - avoid this place.
Response: Thank you for your review, i think this is a result of miscommunication, you brought in a pair of shoes for resoling and stretching, unfortunately i forgot to stretch them so we offered to do that straight away for you,so you could pick them up the following day ( stretching takes a day). Despite we apologized several times for the inconvenience you wanted to take the shoes with you. We did not charge for the stretching , so how we should have provided terrible customer service is puzzling me
