My interest in human behaviour is stimulated by the variety of my life journey. My exposure to various cultures and diversity has emphasised that human behaviour is not a “one-size-fits-all” template.

As mentioned, I was trained in South African. Both my Bachelor of Arts and Honours in Psychology were completed through the University of South Africa (UNISA). My Masters in Clinical Psychology was completed at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Individual Psychotherapy is a therapeutic process, which promotes mental stability, personal well-being and self-satisfaction. In this process, the psychologist helps the patient to clarify and know their functioning pattern, as well as their own difficulties and to find solutions and new strategies to deal effectively with them.

Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy studies the infant's behaviours since he/she was born. This branch of Psychology focuses on the physical, motor, cognitive, perceptual, affective and social development of children and adolescents. The constant changes lead to the experience of extraordinarily strong feelings and potentially disorganising emotions, which may cause suffering and distress. These symptoms and anxieties, if not worked and resolved, may lead to the development of a psychopathology in adulthood. Thus, it is essential to intervene early.

Family Therapy sees the individual's symptom or problem/difficulty as a result of the dysfunctional way the family interacts. The pregnancy and postpartum periods are essential phases in the development of secure attachment relationships between the mother/father and his/her baby. For lasting improvement you will be encouraged to explore and express your feelings related to different aspects of your life, set goals and follow assignments to achieve them.

Counselling is a short-mid term therapy. We would have an initial session (intake) in which you can tell me your story and your expectations/motivation. Based on that, we can make a plan of goals to achieve and how to achieve them.

During our sessions you will find a warm confidential space that allows you to explore uncomfortable feelings, understand its root causes, place it in a context and learn coping skills to manage those feelings.

We would start with weekly sessions and gradually move to appointments every two weeks, or even checking in once per month.
