4worldlovers: We’re proud to announce our collaboration with Luuk de Haan. A contemporary artist who pushes the boundaries of the medium of photography further. De Haan’s titles often make indirect references to narrative or figurative content that provide clues to the potential for a metaphorical reading of his essentially abstract works. His series refer very directly to objects in the real world and thus directs us towards a very particular understanding of the meaning of the images.


Photographing digitally manipulated on-screen slideshow images of lines of varying degrees of brightness and tonal intensity is De Haan’s unique technique.


Olga Wagemans is the latest addition the the Kahmann Gallery Lab. Using a heat camera she aims to “de-picture” the outer identity and to explore if there is a core that remains and unites all people. In applying this technique, outer attributes such as age, gender or color of skin often disappear.


Asha Swillens (1994) joins the Kahmann Gallery LAB. Asha is a photographer and digital artist/image maker. Her work is to a large extent influenced by her fashion study in The Hague and Antwerp, enabling her to develop her own artistic signature. She mainly used mixed media and designed garments by making fashion-collages. Since 2020 her focus is on photography rather than fashion. Photography allowed her to push the boundaries of her former way of constructing ideas based on the shapes of garments and lead her to focus on the aesthetics of an image instead.


Jacques Olivar was born in Casablanca (1941). As a young man, he went to flight school to become an airline pilot. However, the immense pleasure he got from flying airplanes didn't avert his overflowing passion for images. In 1987, Jacques Olivar began working in fashion and collaborated with the most prestigious international magazines. The sophistication reflected in his photos is never arrogant or inaccessible. It is always a combination of simple elements, which are brought together and result in a beautifully harmonious effect.


Jan Schlegel (1965, Germany) his works are reminiscent of original genres of photography and at the same time a renaissance of the old craft of photographic art, which is uniquely able to combine two characteristics - the highest achievable quality and eternal beauty. He explores the boundaries of his medium and asks universal existential questions about identity, beauty and uniqueness of every living thing in all its detail, forms and structures.


Rolf van Rooij (2003) is the youngest photographer discovered by us. Started out as a street photographer of cityscapes with a human touch. This gives the otherwise so graphic representation of architecture something graceful. In his first publication for the Real Photo Book, the abstract form was chosen.


Neeltje de Vries (1976) is a fine art photographer based in Amsterdam. She works as an independent photographer focussing on female beauty. Shooting both fine art and commissioned work. In her work Neeltje looks for images that touch the viewer. Images that tell a story. Searching for the thin line between friction and power. That can be both disturbing and pleasing. But always with an eye for aesthetics. "I take most pictures when I'm not photographing. It's in the subconscious."


Kahmann Gallery has the absolute pleasure of announcing a great French photography talent. Antoine Khol (1973) has now captured nature un a wonderful style of his own. In a graphic style and very bright coloring, his work has a completely unique signature.


The international photography fair Haute Photographie will be held at the Keilepand in Rotterdam from February 8 to 12, 2023. The five-day event featuring more than 50 (inter)national photographers is centered around a 1250m2 group exhibition and presents photography from the past (vintage), the present (contemporary) and the future (talents). Marcus Schaefer (Germany, 1987) is a Paris-based multi-disciplinary artist and film director. His driving force is pressuring impulse to capture his current state of mind. In a world predominantly ruled by color images, Schaefer seeks avenues of escape and expression through the visual aesthetics of black and white photography. Schaefer also makes beautiful unique drawings and sculptures.


Kahmann Gallery is a specialists in bringing together the ‘collectibles’ of our time. We did bring together 17 photographers who, in our view, have made timeless work. Work that rises above mediocrity simply by its aesthetics or by the right eye of its creator.


In addition to a new magazine, we did present four new international photographers on the Lindengracht. Marianna Rothen (Canada), Costanza Gastaldi (Italy), Jonas Bjerre Poulsen (Denmark) and GT Nergaard (Norway) presented their latest works and books (available at Artibooks.com).
