OBA Oosterdok - Public Library: what do users think?

Polina List: Very nice and big library. That have free wifi, place for coworkers, nice viewpoint on the 7 floor and restaurant. You need nothing to get in, it’s open for everyone.

HT: Good place to work if you want a change. They have wifi, coffee, food and the design is pretty. On the day I came, there was also live music on the ground floor to enjoy.

Jenny Hsu: 10-min walk from Amsterdam Central station.Clean toilets, study spaces on each floor and free Wi-Fi (need to create an account via self-own internet or public PC).

Dan Seeli: Pretty amazing architt Internet only 50Mb but quick enough Has rj45/ethernet cables for internet but bring your own cable Massive amounts of facilities, literally everything No coffee/drinks vending machine but during the day a coffee house Beautiful building

Karem Figo: Very good library for books and academic references. Plus you can finish your research in a quiet environment

Melisa Natalia Antunez: Great place and atmosphere. The only bad thing is that wifi does not work :( you can get a library card online to borrow books.

Merve Sizer: This library is spectecular. On the top of the building, there is amazing view. All officers are always lovely and helpful.

Miguel Buendía: Wonderful building to spend the whole day reading, working on your laptop or just to visit its cafeteria with stunning views of the city

Florin Bantas: Superb Saturday, the library open to the public, crowded at 3 p.m.

Şeyda: A library must first be quiet. Secondly, food is not eaten in the library as it will be disturbing in terms of both noise and smell. But this library does not have either of these features. On my last visit, the group of girls at the next table were laughing and chatting. Their laughter was accompanied by the sound of crackers. If it's forbidden to do these things in this library, why doesn't anyone warn these people? Why aren't warnings posted everywhere that clearly state the rules? Apart from all these problems, an architectural problem is the use of escalators that sound like production lines in a factory in a library that should be quiet. These bands could at least have sensors. They work even when people are not present. This is a huge waste of energy. It's just a show library, which I can never associate with a city like Amsterdam. Very sad.
Response: We are sorry to hear about the experience you had at OBA Oosterdok. Of course, our colleagues are always ready to help if you have any questions, comments or complaints, also about noise pollution and other issues. Perhaps there is another room where there is less noise, making it more pleasant to work or study. We hope to see you at the OBA again soon. ^BM

Rijksmuseum Research Library: what do users think?

Ales Tvrdy: I came to the museum just for the library. Even though there is just one spot where is possible to see the beauty of the library, it was still worth it. The entrance fee is quite expensive but as a library lover, I was satisfied. The whole museum looks gorgeous but still, the library is my top one. Thank you 🚀

Marina V.: Literally the most beautiful library in the world. The staff is very helpful. The collection of books is extensive

Margot Gabel: Beautiful art library on several floors. It took me several attempts to find the entrance, it is a bit hidden! 📚As a museum visitor you can only access a little balcony but if you have a card to borrow books you can use the reading room downstairs. Keep your voice low!

Healthy Sumi: This library is extraordinary! When visiting Rijksmuseum do the honour to see this one!

Laure Drosopoulou: It's a wonderful collection of books and it would be a great place to study, if only the museum would care a little bit more about students who actually come for the library and not about tourists who see it as merely another attraction. It's extremely annoying to try and study when there's tourists roaming around and the guard has to shush them every five minutes 'cause they're talking too loudly and sneakily taking pictures. The museum should really consider just not letting them in the library.

Adam Greenlee: One of the rooms that's on every book worm's bucket list. Pictures never do places like this justice, you should definitely see it for yourself. At least from our experience, the location was not as popular as other areas of the museum. So you have more personal space to enjoy being there without the crowds.

Emiliya Hrabova: You can visit the library reading room from the museum. Only this room is open for visiting. The entrance to the library is passing through the science room on the first floor(1.13). The view from the upstairs is on the second floor from the coins and medals room(2.16 on the map).

Dan Sugrue: For photos go early!!! If you are hoping to make a great photos get there early. It's an amazing room.

Wends VM: Just wow!

Greta: Beautiful library, worth visiting just to look at the nice view from the balcony.

Rijksmuseum library designed by Cuypers: what do users think?

TRAVELLING {, TO BE PRECISE}: You can hop in (free of charge when visiting the museum) to have a peek at the library from behind the balcony. Have seen much more impressive libraries, but it will still be 5' of enjoyable book porn.

Vivianne Lin: It's like a bonus to me when visiting Rijksmuseum. A pity that can't go inside that time.

s izmi: A library with a mysterious and quiet charm that makes you think that a magic school library must be like this. You can only look down from above, but since it actually functions as a library, those who want to read books can enter from the entrance on the first floor. There are also Japanese art-related books, and there are only art museums, so there are many art-related books. Dutch or English.

Tommy Secondspace: A Biliothek like from the fairy tale. From the museum you can just plug in your nose. That's definitely enough to get a good impression. Definitely reward yourself to look!

Local Guide: This library has something unique. It gives enormous peace. It's nice to have seen it once
