Christian Vandendorpe: Good selection and easy to get to if you live on the West part of town. As usually big DIY stores like this one are further away and in industrial areas.

Dakota Hunter: New Update! Bought a toilet with a faulty knob - came in and they sorted it so quickly! Amazing service!! Old review - Hands down one of the best experiences I had in any store in the Netherlands. The manager even took time to show us how to do what we needed to do and the other associates were very helpful in helping us find what we needed.

Diederick Koekkoek: Big place for home improvement and DIY. The problem is, it is too big and lacks signage or logic, meaning window isolation next to sinks etc so going down all the Isles to find a particular item on racks that also lack any order or hanging on wrong place. Chaos! Yet lots of friendly staff to help out before going nuts. Deals are not really must buy now. Still happy to have this place nearby when I have some things to do in the house and plenty of time to prepare...
veebee: This place is very expensive. It looks like is always going to shut down because you have often empty shelves or cannot find a variety of tools etc. Staff is okish. Not that helpful. Gamma is fuller of things s and slightly cheaper. I recommend to go to gamma if possible and avoid this place. They also used to sell plants and those usually are expensive but if good quality, they last long. Also this lately is disappointing, only a very little, or none, something, selection of plants

Hopsa: I was terrorized instead of served by two witches and their boss, the market manager, who is incapable when it comes to deal with customers and manage staff. This used to be a place with good people. Not anymore. Using Gamma now.
Atlasias: Staff is rude. Even by Dutch standards. They’re not helpful. They don’t ask if you need help and when you look for an employee they’re hard to find. When you do find one, they act shocked that you would dare to speak to them while they’re oh so busy. The lady at the cash register acted real sour when I didn’t know that plastic bags cost money. I’m Dutch-American and it does strike me that American service is miles and miles better. But, come on stupid Praxis store... I’m sure you could do better if you tried even a little bit. Just disappointed.

La Buse Toujours: the same brand items and homebrand at karwei is most of the time more expensive than nearby gamma. actually gamma owns karwei since a few years. either way, in this karwei the staff is subpar. for example, the cashiers dont know how to trade in the points so called "heijtjes" when paying up. only come here if the item is not in stock at gamma.
Alessandro Gentile: I ordered from them 8 custom shelves, via their wep application. The web application is extremely unpleasant to use. After 6 weeks I received a message that the shelves were ready, but it turned out that only 2 of them had been sent. It took other weeks to get the remaining shelves. Out of these 6 remaining shelves, 3 are bent, 2 are dented. As shelves, they are quite useless as too wobbly.
Victoria Mantellini: Dont buy here! Worst service ever. I payed nearly 6oo euros for tailored curtains and have been waiting 3 months for these, no news yet on expected delivery time! They never respond to my emails and it takes them ages to take a phone call. It is a scam.

Besides that, the prices showed in the shop were not even correct and in line with what we have been asked to pay.Unrealistic for a shop as famous as Karwei ! Very disappointed.
Guide Xl: Beautiful store and not crowded. Only negative is that you have to pay voor parking. I will choose another location because of that.

Canan Marasligil: I love this hardware store! First of all, the staff is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They are always helpful and non judgmental. You can feel they want to help and make sure you find what you need. They also leave you alone browsing if that’s what you want and are never pushy. I always feel good and welcomed in this store, and it’s where I come back to, even if sometimes online ordering may be easier (especially in these days), I just love coming here and I want to keep supporting this shop as much as I can.

Kenneth Kuhn: DIY Wittenberg is one of the last survivors of a breed that is rapidly dying out inside of the Amsterdam ring, a non-big-box hardware store staffed by friendly, helpful personnel who seem genuinely interested in finding solutions for their customers. Wittenberg is well-stocked with commonly used bits and pieces for everyday repairs and odd jobs around the house. They have a wood sawing service, which is also able to saw pieces to match scale drawings. They have a variety of hardwood, soft wood and composite panels. Sawing is done accurately and with minimum waste. The stainless steel hardware selection is very good, with plenty of the odds and ends a boat owner might need. The paint selection covers just about any job you could imagine, from chalkboard paint to heat resistant radiator paint. The personnel will give you good advice on surface preparation and finishing and lead you to the right products. I also love being greeted as a return customer when I walk into the store. That kind of welcome makes me feel at home. I hope DIY Wittenberg continues to serve us for many years to come!
