Baking Lab Amsterdam: what do users think?

J Pro: Bakery and cafe. Their croissants are delicious. Coffee was good too. Seating inside and outside. The whole place smelled of freshly baked pastries. It was lovely to sit down, enjoy the refreshments and observe the buzz…

Paul van den Berg: A real nice authentic Bakery with seating and a terrace. They offer quite a nice lunch menu with lots of options including a lot of homemade pastries and cakes. Of course also bread for home, even your flour to do it yourself at home.

Ivy Antunes: The croissants were sooo good! Got one with jam and one with lemon curd, both were delicious spreads. Also got a tumeric oat latte, very tasty. The building has a cool layout as well. Highly recommend!

Andrew Williamson: Lovely place, with superb coffee and wonderful baked goods. The cheese and olive croissant swirls are next level. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great staff too

Ai Avondstondt: not only are the pastries here delicious, the people working are all super nice too!! if you come here and they have it, you should totally try the bread pudding, it’s amazing :)

Jane Palash: Such an all-around lovely place, from staff to incredible pastry! Has become my go-to very quickly.

Karl Hamilton: From the smell of fresh baking when you come through the door to the delicious food and coffee, this is a lovely cosy spot. Recommended.

Tony Thijs: Excellent, very professional & cosy place. Very tasty, totally dedicated employees. You can learn a lot of baking out here. Totally recommended!Camera: Moto G7 power by Lenovo
Response: Thanks Tony for adding starlight to our place.

J G: Very nice bakery with seating inside and out, excellent coffee and beautiful baked goods

Bilge Okumus: We did sourdough bread workshop as a team building activity in Baking Lab. We were super happy and had great time. Place has a really cosy vibe to start with. During the workshop, we learned the science behind baking, witnessed different steps of bread making, had great conversations about circular baking and even baked our own pizza for dinner. Our instructors Ferdinand and Alice were super friendly and nice, made us feel at home whole evening. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a team activity or nice evening with your friends.

Daan B: Of course it would be better to keep this place a secret, but at the same time it deserves to be recognized as the best pastry shop in town. By far! If you get a chance, try it! You will most certainly come back for more! (And it's the best coffee around, too!)

Timon Saße: Stumbled upon this hidden spot at random. Super friendly owners. Exquisite cake and espresso. Certainly worth a visit.

E Z: HIDDEN GEM!!!!! Super small but nice shop. Delicious cake, friendly service. One of the best!!! Chocolate cake is amazing, super good caramel. I love the cakes are not very sweet but good sweet !

Sarai R: Such a cute place, hidden in a beautiful street. Super friendly owner :)

Pactli Alexis Cabanétos Renaud: Hidden gem in Amsterdam, really tasty pastries and coffee, it gives the gourmet French patisserie experience.

Odette Rutten: Hidden gem for amazing coffee and pastries! Definitely go to!

ZH: The pastries are so good. Combination of interesting and delicious ingredients and excellent preparation. Well worth a visit!!

susana esclusa: Big discovery. Really amazing taste and refined pastries, finding a lot of cure in te ingredients ( high quality). Click & collect was fast and easy. The best, her Sourdough Panettone!!

Leon Visser: Amazing coffee and pastries

Juan Carlos Labrador Espejo: Delicious!

Italian cooking school / Italiaanse kookschool La Cucina del Sole: what do users think?

Enrique Velasco: Excellent service and concept for team building or simply getting together with friends. The results of the recipes are amazing and the atmosphere is quite cozy. Highly recommended. For more experiences like this follow @quiquinnv
Response: Thank you very much Enrique! 🌸

Pablo Musumeci: Our team had an amazing time with our teacher Jasmin. She helped us preparing ravioli with ricotta which turned out being much tastier than what I expected! Definitely recommended for companies that want their teams to have some fun and share a truly Italian moment together. Special note for Jasmin who was really energetic and became a big reason for our time being so fantastic!
Response: Hi Pablo, Jasmine thanks you and says you made her day! :)

Chloe Shoobridge: Wow wow wow is all I can say! Attended the Pasta and Gnocchi making course last night, it was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better evening, from the food to the company, it was fantastic! Nicolleta is a wonderful host and took the time to explain everything, moving from table to table making sure we were all okay. I’ve come home with a full belly and a new passion for pasta making!
Response: Thank you so much, Chloe! It’s been a pleasure teaching to you and all the wonderful people that came to the class. So much enthusiasm and desire to learn pasta making in all of you! And that showed: the dishes turned out fabulously well.

Stefano Gambarotta: We spent a beautiful evening cooking with our friends and colleagues. Nicoletta & her team were very welcoming...and the food was delicious! I would strongly recommend to anyone who's looking for an interactive and fun dinner :)
Response: Grazie mille Stefano, since you're Italian that's a double compliment! :) It's been a real pleasure having you and your group in our kitchen. Arrivederci!

Villia de koningh: I highly recommend cooking lessons at this school. Nicoletta gives wonderful inspiring lessons, and all eating together what we cooked was so much fun. I learned so much can't wait for the risotto workshop. An authentic taste of Italy.
Response: Thanks a lot, VIllia, it's always a pleasure to have you with us so come back whenever you want! :) Nicoletta

Mark Vijftigschild: Great atmosphere, great food and lots to learn. A fantastic way to spend an evening with friends or your team. Highly recommended !
Response: Thank you so much, Mark! <3

Aubrey Almanza: Such a lovely way to spend the day. Highly recommend as a gift or date. Made some great new culinary skills and will be back for another workshop soon!
Response: Thanks a million, Aubrey! :)

Francesco Cavaliere: The best place in Amsterdam to learn how to cook and eat "real" Italian food from a really nice italian girl, highly recommended to Locals and visitors.
Response: Grazie! Especially for that "girl"! ;)

Jill: La Dolce Vita! This cooking workshop has it all, it is a complete Italian experience. I enjoyed creating together, eating together and drinking together. And Nicoletta, a real Italian who is very authentic and sincere, a wonderful person!
Response: Grazie mille Jill, it was a pleasure having you with us. :)

Mirthe Stoop: While the food was tasty and good, I didn't find the hostess to be very friendly and empathetic. She is strict on several occasions when you make a mistake (we're here to learn, aren't we?) and doesn't wish you well in the event of illness. Also, talk a lot about yourself. Background: I wanted to reschedule the cooking course because one of us had possible corona complaints. Nicoletta's email asks about complaints; this implies that it offers a solution / thinks along / has a corona policy. However, this is not the case, I had to arrange someone to replace myself. I was treated to a story about how annoying it is for her, including the cost (in detail). However, I couldn't count on understanding or even getting better from our side. A bit harsh because I only want to resist for good reasons; we don't want to infect people of course. In the end I went to the cooking course with a replacement, where I did not feel comfortable (partly because of her strict remarks to the students). We had a good meal and the other students were very friendly.

Amsterdam Cooking Workshops: what do users think?

Fall Thiam: I booked an Indonesian cooking workshop for my team with David and so far it was the best we ever did! David is very knowledgeable about the type of cuisine he teaches, and takes the right amount of time explaining everything in a very entertaining and interactive way. We all had a lot of fun in a cozy setting and the food ended amazing, highly recommend it!

Ellen Keith: We booked a private Vietnamese cooking class with David and loved the experience. It was a nice, intimate vibe. We learned a lot and the food was absolutely delicious, more than we could eat. The recipes were easy to follow and David explained everything very clearly. We had a lot of fun and we'd definitely consider taking another class with David. Highly recommended!

burcu bayrak: We had two cooking workshops here, one for Indonesian food and one for Vietnamese. Both went very well! Food we cooked was quite delicious, but what's more important is we had so much fun. It was a great team building activity. David and his colleagues are super kind, friendly, obviously know a lot about Asian cuisines. They made sure the whole evening was flawless. We will for sure organize more events next year and I recommend to everyone who is willing to try something new, whether for a company / team event or date night or fun time with friends.

Victoria Clark: My department at work did two cooking workshops with David and everyone loved it, even the people who don't really like cooking or didn't have much experience. The lessons moved along at a good pace without being rushed, and David kept things low stress and fun. He was really helpful when anyone had questions, and the food was delicious and plentiful! Highly recommended, will definitely go again!
Response: Dear Victoria, Thank you for your kind words! I really enjoyed hosting you and your colleagues. You're always welcome for another cooking workshop. Best regards, David - Amsterdam Cooking Workshops

Mika Chesnutt: My partner and I did an Indonesian cooking workshop and it was one of the best experiences and a memory I will never forget. Upon arriving, David was so welcoming and we met our fellow cooking classmates at the table. Apart from eating the food, we learned so much about Indonesian cuisine and the incredible aromas that come with it. Every dish we made was delicious in its own way and David would walk around and give tips to make sure we were making the recipe correctly. I can't wait to cook an Indonesian meal for my family! We will definitely be back to another class sometime soon and recommend it to those who live in or are visiting Amsterdam.

Ilca Zween: David did an amazing job in educating our American student group on Indonesian culture & cuisine as well as providing the context of the Dutch-Indonesian history. Above all, he made the cooking class fun! We all had an amazing time and ate some fantastic food.

Ewan Mackie: We planned a team outing to take part in an Indonesian cooking class after finding David’s page and we were already enthusiastic before the actual event. The location was incredibly easy to get to, only 6 stops on the tram from Centraal Station and was very cosy indeed. The welcome by David was very warm and after some drinks, we were treated to an explanation about how David came to this concept, what we would be making and guiding us through some of the ingredients (some fresh smelling, some foul - the shrimp paste - but all helpful in making delicious food). The knowledge that David possesses about Indonesian cooking is substantial and how explains this makes what can appear to be a daunting task (so many ingredients) one which can be done with ease, with love and with fun. When you get into your groups (for us, it was 6 groups of 3), you are given your tasks but are you left alone? Absolutely not, because David keeps a good eye on everything - making sure that you are putting the right ingredients together, the right amounts, the cooking times and helping where needed. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, were incredibly impressed by David as a host and his story. And of course, the food was delicious. We left well-fed, more knowing of Indonesian food and delighted that we chose Amsterdam Cooking Workshops for our team event. We’re looking forward to the next one! Great work David, and thank you for hosting us!

Meida W: I got this workshop vouchers as the farewell gift from my previous colleagues. Me and my friend enjoyed the workshop very much. Due to corona rules, we had a "personal" workshop (only me, my friend and David/the chef-coach) at his place. The workshop and instruction was relaxing and easy to be followed in a very friendly and cozy environment. We also learnt some tips and tricks during the workshop. After the cooking, we sat together and ate the dishes. Very delicious !!!. Happy tummy :D. I directly showed the pictures to my ex colleagues and recommended this workshop back to them :)
Response: Hi Meida, Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure hosting you and I'm glad you enjoyed your farewell gift! Best regards, David - Amsterdam Cooking Workshops

Anneclaire Koek: We loved the Thai cooking workshop! It was really inspirational and nice to learn about the ingredients. We loved the fresh ingredients and it made us feel like we were in Thailand again. We will definitely come back for the Indonesian cooking workshop! Highly recommend!

Marlene Hinterleitner: The way David hosted this cooking class was really impressive. Everything was very well organized, instructions were super clear and you could learn a lot while enjoying the relaxed and "gezellig" atmosphere. :) In the intro he shared more about his background and how he learned to cook Thai himself, which made it authentic and personal. We really enjoyed the fantastic food and are looking forward to the next cooking class with David. Thanks for the great evening!

Craft Coffee & Pastry Amsterdam: what do users think?

Martine Leclerc: Amazing and well priced pastries! It‘s not easy to find gluten free pastries in Amsterdam and these are delicious. They mostly have sweet and savory croissants, but everything else they have to offer looks great too. Only downside is that there are no labels to describe the pastries.
Response: Thank you for your review Martine.

Val: Croissant was delicious, that little tart was something incredible and the choc chip cookie was great! Lovely little bakery in a quiet and cute area, my bf got a latte as well which was one of the best he had (he said). Definitely worth going if you love pastries and gluten intolerant. Staff was lovely as well :)
Response: Thank you very much Val for the kind review.

Sabine Wiesinger: The best croissant in a 10year celiac life! Awesome and I absolutely recommend it! The pistachios cake was also very tasty! Only the waiting time at 12am was shocking, because of such a long queue. So we came 2hours later again and then the choice was not big, but okay. So maybe you should accept the waiting time, the products are worth it!
Response: Hi Sabine, we indeed have a que at our shop in Amsterdam sometimes, especially on Saturday. The shop is small but popular… so we can’t go any faster.

Monica Martino: This is the best gluten free bakery you can find in Amsterdam, and THE best I have ever tried. Being a gluten intolerant this is paradise! I love the ham and cheese croissant. The staff is friendly and the there is a wide variety of pastry. I cannot reccomend this place enough. The food is so good that also those without special food requiremnt will love it.
Response: Hi Monica, thank you so much for your kind words. We are happy you liked the products we make.

Yoram Cohen: Gluten free. We tried the French croissant, almond croissant and brioche Pistachio. It was really great, very close to the wheat.Great one. Very nice and accommodating team.
Response: Thank you for your lovely review Yoram.

Erin Carlton: Most amazing gluten free croissant, the best I have ever had. Light, fluffy and crunchy pastry. Even my husband who isn't gluten free loved his croissant, and we bought 2 more for takeaway for breakfast the next morning!
Response: Thank you very much for your kind words. We are happy you enjoyed our products.

Siim M: Everything gluten free. Hard to choose, what to eat. Best brioche 🥐 I’ve ever eaten! Gluten free or not. Try the one with cheese 🧀 & ham and the one with chocolate 🍫, you will not regret it! ;)
Response: Thank you Siim

Chiara Corbella: Best gluten free croissant I’ve ever had, perfect texture and very yummy filling. Great variety of products and staff is super nice 🌟 recommend 100% Gluten free oat milk is also available!! Will go back soon!
Response: Thank you very much for your kind review

Aris Schellinkhout: During our visit to Amsterdam my celiac girlfriend demanded we got a croissant here. She actually had tears in her eyes when she took her first bite. According to her it’s the best croissant she’s had in 15 years so I cannot give enough praise to the bakers. The personnel takes time and care for each customer, they’re very open and welcoming. There was a small queue when the store opened and I assume there’s a longer one during the afternoon. But in my opinion it’s worth every second. If you know a celiac, bring them here, it’ll make their year.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind review. It means a lot to us.

Jade B: Best gluten free pastries I have had by a LONG shot. Gave my husband some and he said they’re better than his normal croissants! Going to be dreaming of the ham & cheese croissant tonight 🤤
Response: Thank you and have a sweet (of salty in this case) dream 😉
