Paula Marino: I had the best experience at Amsterdam Tourist Doctors. I am so grateful I was able to get the care needed in the middle of my vacation. I booked my appointment online and I was able to come in the next day. The staff was super helpful. The doctor was great and knowledgeable. I got the prescription needed and I got to continue with my trip :)

Max P: Great experience. We were a little leery about coming here after reading some of the bad reviews, so wanted to share the positive feedback. Highly recommended; every aspect of our visit was ideal: easy to get an appointment, excellent quality of care, and very reasonable cost. More details: my wife and I were in Amsterdam when some unexpected urgent medical attention was needed. Our concierge recommended Amsterdam Tourist Doctors and scheduled the appointment for us. When our schedule opened up, we were able to call and reschedule for an earlier slot (be patient waiting in the phone queue). The doctor was very thorough, an excellent communicator, and spent nearly a full hour with us. She also set up a referral to a local hospital, which we luckily didn't end up needing. And the cost was incredibly reasonable - €55.

Kirka Fin: Never go to any doctor in Netherlands especially if you are tourist. They don't know how to treat people. They can only give you PARACETAMOL and you gonna pay a lot for the visit. Better if you buy paracetamol without going doctor and save some money

Devon Greene: I had a fantastic experience today. I was hesitant to visit this practice because of the negative reviews here but after checking their positive reviews on Doctena, I decided to go. I'm very happy I did, the doctor was incredibly kind and patient. She was engaged, clearly knowledgeable, and empathetic. I did not feel rushed at all. She not only addressed what I came for but also provided suggestions that I think will prove quite helpful. The wait time was quite short and the facilities are very clean.

Lee Sue Ann: We wasted close to 4 hours here. The people running this place give poor, or rather, no proper information. It was only when we came in 2 hours early to sit and wait for our appointment that we were told we needed to take a Covid test. So we went to the pharmacy to get a test kit. We tested positive and continued waiting outdoors for our appointment for 1hour+, only to be told that we can just go home if we're positive. Should have told us that 4 hours ago. Total waste of time due to lousy info.

Marie H: I came there Monday morning with no appointment (usually you should book it online) and was examined not even 5 min after I arrived. The questions the assistant and the GP asked were evidence of their expertise. All staff members were very obliging.

Joe Naylor: After presenting to the emergency department in Amsterdam due to vomiting and having diarrhoea for around 16 hours, the nurses were quite rude and quick to essentially send us away and say it was covid, despite concerns being raised that essential medications were not being kept down. However, thankfully they did point us in the direction of Doctor Faloun. Doctor Faloun was incredible! He made his way to the hotel that we were staying in, did a quick check on my physical observations, and then provided medications suitable for the situation. I felt significantly better afterwards and we cannot thank the doctor enough. Had it not been for him, we might have had to book a later plane and pay extra for the hotel. Thank you again! :)

Rebecca Faye Thomson: Great experience, very friendly staff. My husband and I loved the music playing in the lobby. Dr Rachel was very friendly and thorough when exaiming and put my mind at ease to enjoy the rest of our stay.

Jypsie Hoult: I was very disappointed with my visit to this clinic. As a traveller, I only visit doctors when I really need to. In this case, as a 26yo woman, I had shingles and was in a lot of pain. The doctor said she did not want to prescribe me pain medication as it can be addictive. If I thought panadol was helping my situation, I wouldnt have spent 55 Euro to have a doctor tell me what I was already doing. I explained that I have just finished a bottle of conjunctivitis drops, but wanted another for my travels in case it came back. The doctor said: your eyes aren’t red so I’m not giving it to you, you can use just an eye wash. I explained that I couldn’t get any eye drops over the counter the other day and she assured me I would be able to. I walked 10 minutes to the closest pharmacy, and was told that I needed a script for eye drops. I had to get a train within a few hours so I was unable to go back, also having been exhausted with the pain from the shingles.

Nicolo' De Palo: PROBABLY THE WORST Medical Clinic in Amsterdam. It’s practically impossible to contact them: when you call you are placed in an eternal queue and you are lucky if you wait 45-60min before talking to someone. They’ve added a new platform on their website through which you can take appointments and make use of other services. The only problem is that they do not verify your profile once you sign up and you cannot use it. Totally useless. Via email is no difference, waiting for days for a reply. Avoid it at all costs!!!

Carly KleinStern: Mixed reviews of this place - they are helpful enough for minor needs, IF YOU CAN CONTACT THEM. This is impossible via phone (endless waiting that ends in...nothing. which results extreme frustration), and you cannot submit for an appointment online unless you are a registered patient (the website does not say this...you will just constantly think that you are messing up something minor on the form, such as your own birthday). It's inconvenient to go in person, considering people have lives and work, but I recommend going in person to get an appointment if you are able. This is the only way. Not AT ALL ideal, but afterwards they are moderately helpful.

Because after 1 my visit in Expat Medical Center later in the same week another people together with 1 Stoelenproject Administrator talking about my health my private visit discussi with Expat Medical Center Administrator. In this way, the patient's right to Privacy and Confidentiality is violated. For me that support not good ⛔ Be very careful with that slow service

Kateryna Snizhko: Making an appointment is simply impossible. It's easier to get there than reach them by phone. I'm on the line for more than an hour, as usual, still no answer except for "please hold a line". The digital form also not working, they never reply. Their service is a joke.

Alessia Floris: I’m still a patient of this clinic because of the Dr. Camoglio, very well prepared GP, otherwise I would have changed for another clinic. This morning I had an issue that requires the consultancy of the doctor (dr. Camoglio told me last time to go to the clinic as soon as this issue had appeared again) so I’ve try to call: I’ve waited for 1 hour on the phone and nobody picked up. I’ve sent an email but no reply. It’s very difficult having health issue in this country. It’s not the first time I struggle to have an appointment. I also have to complain about the really bad manners of another doctor that I had the unfortunate chance to meet during the absence of Dr. Camoglio: a women very unpleasant and rude. I also confirm the bad hygiene condition of the clinic and the fact that that rude lady doesn’t even wash her hands before the blood collection.

It’s impossible to get in touch with any of them as you have to wait in line for hours. They often have an unpleasant tone while communicating and their website is not functioning properly.

Tidjane George: To all people looking for a doctor to go to, please avoid this center at all costs. I recently had a medical issue that required I go to the hospital at 2AM in the morning, following which I went to get an ultrasound to see what was going wrong. The ultrasound did not find anything so I was informed to contact the practitioner who had sent me to get the ultrasound (Expat Medical Center) for next steps. Here is where the problems begin. I have been trying to get in touch with for more than 2 weeks and it is impossible. They have the detailed results of my ultrasound but do not answer my emails. When you call you're put into an eternal waiting line for 45 minutes before the line just shuts off. Showing up at the center has been no help either. I am now seeking medical help elsewhere, but it's actually quite scary to think that this medical center doesn't bother to follow up with me on an issue that sent me to the emergency room. If it is medical attention you are looking for, this is not the place.

Silvia Weller: Absolutely absurd waiting times on the phone. I have been trying to make an appointment for 3 days in a row and the waiting lines were extremely long. In the queue for almost an hour today and the phone gets disconnected. Big no-no guys, please get your service together.

ahmed Alhatwa: Amsterdam UMC I think it is the best hospital in the Netherlands in terms of treatment techniques and experience. The doctors are very friendly and treat patients professionally. It is located near the train station and a bus stop that connects you to all areas of Amsterdam.

Оксана Филатова: In my opinion it is the best hospital I have ever visited in my life. They saved me. I was brought there with sharp pain. They accepted and examined me quickly. They did everything asap and then I had a surgery. It was appendectomy. Actually I have a tattoo on my stomach. There are flowers and a bird there. So the surgeon was so smart and kind, she did holes properly saving my painting!) The rooms were clean, fresh, well equipped. The beds were really comfortable. The doctors and staff were very friendly, attentive and they always treated me. They supported me all the time which I was there. I felt like at home. Thanks a lot!

Kim Stok: What comes to mind when I think of the professionalism here-is rock bottom. I am writing this review because it's been long over due. My personal experience with the gynaecology department here has been very devastating. Something I believe no human being should ever experience in their life time. I made an appointment to speak with a gynaecologist doctor here who permanently damaged my fertility, left me with chronic pain and performed surgery on me without my consent. I met with two doctors at separate times to discuss the incident. The first doctor stated the doctor who performed surgery on me without my consent had no desire to ever speak to me. The second doctor told me to get over what happened to me. I was completely mortified by their response. I contacted the head of the hospital for the gynaecology department to investigate the matter and instead they ignored my complaint and did not try to investigate the matter at all. I was completely shattered by their knee jerk reaction, cold shoulder and aloofness behavior. These type of incidents you would think would only happen in a third world country, but apparently that is not the case here. I have no desire to ever be treated by the gynaecology department here because they lack empathy, integrity, and great deal of professionalism. A doctor should be empathetic, professional, demonstrate good communication skills and most of all honest and compassionate, but that is definitely not the case here. In my experience, I found the doctors in the gynaecology department to be inexperience, condescending, arrogant, standoffish, ruthless and disrespectful. Also keep in mind a lot of doctors who work here are students in training to be doctors.

The Reviewer: I've never visited a worse Radiology than this! They didn't treat my niece even though she couldn't properly walk and she was in severe pain. Their excuse was that on the x-ray there was no broken bone but that will not excuse the fact that they didn't give tips to heal faster, didn't give her a bandaid and no Medicaments against the Pain at all. Then one out of TWO rude Nurses told my niece, that the pain is not that bad and that she is being dramatic. Is that how you treat a Patient?! I am so frustrated, mad and speechless that people with pain get treated like that. What kind of Radiology is this? Aren't Hospitals there to help people in need, this Radiology definetly failed this job.

Conrad van den Ende: Worst healthcare experience of my life. We came in to the GP with our son who had been running a 40+ fever for 3 days (this was the first time they let us make an appointment, because it was weekend). We were turned away after my son threw up over the floor in the waiting room with paracetamol, and a 2 minute examination of his ear with the brief remark "his ear is a little red". We had to call our normal GP 3 more times before we could make an appointment 3 days after this (still running 39-40 C EVERY DAY). UPDATE: We had to go to the ER after our own GP prescribed antibiotics (it was too late), my son required an emergency surgery to his ear because of the out of control infection (but it was not an antibiotic resistant bacteria) which was 100% preventable with an early antibiotic prescription.

tatiana newby: AMC saved my life. The most professional staff I have ever met. Yes, they can be blunt but when faced with possible demise one needs to hear the truth. I still go monthly because they want to make sure I am better.

Lia Nl: The building is great and quite easy to navigate. The secretary workers are nice. But while we're in the Omicron wave I still don't understand why ventilation and masks are not better promoted. I had a great experience in the ophtalmology department. The nurse and doctor have been extremely empathetic and treated me very kindly. They took time to explain my pathology and I received extra care because I have allergies to eye drops. On the other hand, I can not recommend the genetics department. The doctors I've seen did not seem to care about diagnosis that have been assessed by my current specialists and physiotherapists. They have refused to listen to me and just made their own assessment in 5min. Which goes against everything that my hypermobility specialists (including rehab doctors) have assessed. So unfortunately I won't recommend these doctors and will seek proper counseling somewhere else.

K. H.: I delivered my baby at AMC and I cannot express in words how nice and professional everyone has been with us. From the arrival to the after care ( I had to spend the night due to complications) I received top care and attention. On top of that they were all incredibly nice and warm during my painful hours. Thank you so much for making this moment better and making me feel surrounded by great professionals and people!
