Elif is helping me with a variety of issues - the first she addressed was my frequent headaches where I would become quite light-sensitive and found it difficult to function effectively. After a few treatments, my headaches reduced in intensity (very relieving) and frequency. I continue to see Elif to find a better inner balance, amongst other issues.

Elif's therapy has also recently provided me immediate relief from a muscular sprain in my back (mostly resolved after 1 treatment, fully after 3 treatments).

Gut Research is the research group headed by Prof. Dr. Wouter de Jonge, within the Tytgat Institute for Liver and Intestinal Research in Amsterdam. Gut research focusses on understanding more of the mechanisms of functional and inflammatory intestinal diseases. Our research facility is EN-ISO15189:2012 accredited (Dutch Accreditation Council, M304).


Gut Research is a research group that is part of the Tytgat Institute for Liver and Intestinal Research, and the Dept. of Gastroenterology at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. We are a group of research fellows, master students, basic researchers and physicians that hope to bridge basic research and drug development.


We are dedicated to understanding more of the mechanisms of functional and inflammatory intestinal diseases, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Esophagitis, Reflux Disease, or Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). In particular we believe that the nervous system, and psychological factors, are important elements in these diseases. With our research we hope to better understand how the brain alters the immune system.
