I always do a lot of research before a trip. The rating for The Pantry is spot on. The food and service were excellent, and the cost was very reasonable. I had a local dish made up of mashed potatoes with carrots, and a large sausage. I don't remember what it was called, but it was excellent. Make reservations if you plan on eating here as it fills up very quickly. We will be back the next time we are in Amsterdam.

I was skeptical about the local cuisine at first, but I was more than pleasantly surprised with how good the food was! The staff was great about recommending dishes and was very attentive. I would DEFINITELY recommend The Pantry!

Wonderful little Dutch restaurant in the Leidesplein area. Great local cuisine, friendly service and nice traditional decor. We were lucky to get a seat at an off hour at this very busy, well known and highly recommended place. Had the pea soup that came with some with some great black bread and ham, soup was outrageous, especially on a rainy, cool fall day. Had the Dutch sausage with three types of mashed potatoes and we had the beef and onion stew, all excellent and super filling Dutch comfort food. Had to make room to try their excellent desserts. This is a must go to place to eat traditional Dutch cuisine in Amsterdam.

This is an absolute MUST stop if you are visiting. It’s a cozy place with THE friendliest wait staff. Not to mention the food was divine, flavorful, and authentic. It was appropriately priced as well. Some things to note: you can go early and try to get a seat OR you can just make a reservation. On the first night we went, we couldn’t get a table just because it was a long wait. So we returned the following night and luckily got a table within 10 minutes! Another reason this restaurant is so amazing is that they have vegetarian options. Anyhow, great experience! High recommend.

From the very start of our evening, we were waited on a very polite young man. I had several questions about the menu and he patiently explained everything I asked about. We started with the fresh bread and herb butter which melted in your mouth. My wife ordered the typical Dutch ham with honey mustard sauce, fries and a salad. I ordered the combination of hit spot, boerenkool and zuurkoostamppot with sausage. The ham melted in your mouth and the sausage was so tender. The mustard sauce complimented the ham as if it was meant to be. The combination potato’s looked like a work of art. I couldn’t decide which to start first. I complimented the young gentlemen and ask about the owner. Surprisingly the gentleman who had been waiting on us was the owner. Family business. I recommend this place. Best food in Amsterdam.

Anytime I'm lucky enough to have a visitor to Amsterdam, my first stop on the tour is The Pantry! I'm always blown away by the hospitality and warm vibes of the staff. The food is wonderful and it's always a treat to expose people to a lesser known cuisine! The servings are quite generous, especially for the fair prices. Highly recommend to everyone!

Had a terrific experience at The Pantry. The service was phenomenal and the food was even better. I ordered the Hutspot and it did not disappoint. The sausage was well flavoured and tasted fresh. The mashes potatoes with the carrots and beans was also delicious. Their local beer paired nicely with the dish. I recommended coming early or having a reservation as this place was full when my party and I arrived. Despite this they were able to seat us in a matter of minutes. I highly suggest this establishment and would not hesitate to come back next time I am in Amsterdam.
