Cacaomuseum: what do users think?

P van Wijk: Very nice museum/shop, many different chocolate to buy, nice smell of chocolate, many information, the owner is very passionate and knows alot about it, you can take a tast experience, the last is less, yes he is very passionate about it, but sometimes because of that he not find the right words

Tess Löwenhardt: Great experience at the cocoa museum. It's small but has the important info and smells great. With cocoa art on the wall and lots to learn and discover. We did the tasting experience through Groupon and that's a recommendation to understand and taste the huge difference and know which chocolate you want to buy. Buying is not mandatory but it's hard not to. 😉

Elizabeth van Wyk: Great place to learn about from bean to bar chocolate, and taste chocolate from different countries. They also have tea and coffee.

Nettie Atkisson: Chocolate education. Ethically made/ direct trade bean to bar chocolate sold. Classes. Tastings.

mr mule: Best chocolate shop in Amsterdam. Huge range of single origin chocolate. We had a very educational tour of chocolate production and history of chocolate. Fascinating experience!

Mohan Raj: Great explanation and knowledge about Cacao beans and chocolates. Tasted different Cacao chocolates made from Bolivia, India beans. Worth visiting.!!

Ian Miller: Didn't update their website or Facebook with any info about their summer closure. Got to the museum and was very disappointed to find it was closed.

Baha Korkmaz: We had a very fun and informative tasting here. Really nice guide as well. Definitely recommendable!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More

Gabriel Versace: A sweet, unassuming little place. The owner is very passionate about chocolate and its history - he will happily explain the history of cacao to you for free, with the offer of a (paid) chocolate tasting experience to follow it up.

Custom Studio Kalvestraat: A very nice and interesting museum and after all clear explained info from Cacao to bar you can't resist to buy some exclusive chocolate to take home and experience again the great taste of cacao in the bars

Chocolate Company: what do users think?

Cat Bra: Cold chocolate drink with pure chocolate! It was super nice. To be compared to a frappacino. Though I think this was better. Very chocolatey taste and not too sweet. They have different flavours. Super friendly staff that can speak English and Dutch.

Michele Chung: Just need a quick fix of coffee and didn’t wanna walk out into the rain outside of the station. Was a bit worried about the quality of food and coffee as I tend to think any shop in a train station is not necessarily good. How wrong was I and how glad I am that it rained! Excellent coffee and chocolate croissant. The croissant is soft, buttery and crispy on the outside with the right amount of chocolate. Oh, did I mention the sumptuous chocolate that comes with the coffee? Head over here and get your hop on / hop off deal or just a snack.

E P: Ordered a ginger tea and chai oolong tea. The ginger tea was a lot of water with two small pieces of ginger. The chai oolong tea was too sweet and I didn't tast the oolong at all. Hope they serve better drinks next time!

Jordan S.: Good coffee ☕ I enjoyed!I think even George Clooney would love it

Optical Flows: Chocolate company a very cosy place to seat and wait the train or the next metro or bus, located in the Amsterdam central station. A very tasty chocolate drinks cold or hot also for chocolate and desserts also they have a very delicious coffee, the staff are lovely and very kind. I recommend this place because it's attractive to coffee lovers, the smell of coffee will attract you and it will make you pass and try.

RAVE: Try it! Such nice service and a quality coffee & chocolate. Excellent Choice to start your day or gat your caffeine and sugar UP 😍

Alexandar Nikolov: This is a feel good store.50 flavors of hot chocolate to drink there or for take away. You can buy chocolate spoons for home as well. I enjoyed a mid size cup of white hit chocolate , because you rarely find white one in regular coffee shops.

Shane Foley: I wasn’t sure how the selection process worked with all of the flavors of hot chocolate but the staff was very friendly and explained it. The place isn’t big but was very nice. It didn’t take long to get the hot chocolate and I’ve never had it served so nicely before.

ELDORADA: Ordered an iced cappuccino, got a poorly made frappucino with crushed ice. In a paper cup. What a disrespect towards coffee. Never again. For 5.40 EUR.🌝

Çağatay Ege Şahin: Lovely chocolate, friendly staff!

Chocolatemakers: what do users think?

Nettie Atkisson: One owner worked in Agroforestry. The other in Sustainable building. Now they source cacao directly from farmers and have collaborations with cacao farmers and coffee farmers where the money stays with the farmers. Widows of wars on Columbia now run cacao and coffee farms. They have a sail boat that brings cacao beans from the Dominican Republic. Great chocolate, responsibly, ethically and sustainably sourced. Lovely tour guide. Truly inspiring place..

Alex Cio (xandrucea): I heard about the Chocolatemakers for the first time in 2017, through some volunteers from Schokoladenfahrt in Nürnberg. Since then more chocolate arrived here in our town, and more and more people get to know it and love the taste. It's high quality chocolate in 2 variations, milk and dark. I made a picture of the small testers that I got from a friend :) I will go and do a vlog of the chocolatemakers the next time I'll be in Amsterdam again :)

Katja Ferstl: Best chocolate ever! Great concept and the taste of the different chocolate bars is really incomparable, with the pure and simple ingredients it just tastes wonderful. And even the service is great. Thank you. We can only recommend to buy this chocolate.
Response: Dear Katja, thank you for your kind words. Good to hear you like the chocolate!

Christian Fehre: Cycling from Germany (Schokofahrt) just to get their awesome chocolate. Very nice team as well.
Response: So impressed by you guys! Proud to welcome you and all the other dedicated cyclists!

The Pastry Templar: I love this company as they make a real chocolate without additives. They deliver with electric bike and their factory works mainly thanks to wind power. I worked with their chocolate for about 2 years and I would do it again if I could. Great chocolate, great people.

Arcelia Gallardo: Well this is not open to the public but an amazing chocolate maker.

Micky Heiligenberg: Awsome

Janet Van der Niet: Have now ordered war for the 2nd time here and they make very tasty chocolate. They are also very nice people. Keep it up to the next 10 yrs.
Response: Janet! Great to hear, we hope you continue to enjoy it!

Marc van Liempt: What a beautiful story of this chocolate maker. Decided to buy this chocolate from now on to contribute to a fair world.

je weet wie: We had a very educational and inspiring tour last weekend. Chocolate makers prove on a small scale that the entire chain from raw material to end product can be run sustainably and with high quality for taste at the same time. Top story!

Urban Cacao: what do users think?

M.E. Amrani: I am a fan of this brand and their products. However, when visiting today after a long time, I was quite disappointed! The store looked very messy; while they used to have a nice premium look in the past, it now looks more like a warehouse. Also wanted to buy some macarons, but the pastry cases they were in had quite some fruit flies! Which indicates the macarons are not fresh and they are not being kept cool. I was also surprised to see their collection of products which is much smaller now. In the past they sold a greater variety of products. I'm very sad to see a premium local Dutch brand neglect the quality of their brand and store. It's a pity, because their products are so good!

J. W. H.: Chocolate lovers rejoice! Urban Cacao offers artisanal chocolate bars made of exotic single origin cacao from destinations such as Belize, Madagascar, Namibia, Kenya, Venezuela, etc. Aficionados will appreciate the wide selection of bars containing a high percentage of cacao. For those with a sweeter tooth, there are bars with nuts, caramel, dried fruits etc. A 100g bar is about 5 Euros. For 7 Euros one can buy 3 small bars ideal for sampling.

BradJill: A chocolatier that I really like in Amsterdam is Urban Cacao on Hidenstraat. This is a good place for creative handmade chocolate bars. Opening hours are 10-6pm daily. During our recent visit we purchased 8 different chocolate bars, taking them back to Hong Kong. Each tasted nice while several were really good. Most enjoyed were the 1) milk with caramel and sea salt, 2) milk with stroopwafel, 3) white with gingerbread orange and the 4) dark with salted almond and rosemary. Look forward to visiting Urban Cacao the next time we are in Amsterdam to pick up more of their creative chocolate bars.

Leah: Cute little shop with a cafe and a large assortment of chocolate bars and treats for sale. Loved all the beautiful wrappers - makes their chocolate bars the perfect gift!!

Nolan Rumble: Great spot for interesting varieties of chocolate! I particularly like that they give you some small pieces to try so that you don’t accidentally buy something you might not like!

Michael Schaten: Fantastic chocolate variants, great Ambiente and friendly service. You can try every chocolate before buying it - disappointment or bad surprises hardly possible! Only four stars because of the very high prices though...

Nazan Z: A terrible service, very rude, shop is full of boxes and the taste of hot chocolate is no different than chocomel

Sarah Jane Savage: I wandered by while exploring Amsterdam early one morning and made a note of their cool interior and displays. I came back later when they were open and I was glad I did their chocolate comes in interesting and creative flavors, but even their straight chocolate is fantastic. Great flavor, and wonderful smooth mouthfeel, even with high-cocoa mass varieties. I got an 80% bar that was smoother than any similar bar I’ve tried. Definitely going back.

Ksenia Bredikhina: Very disappointed! The exterior of the shop looks really appealing and the inside interior with chocolate bars displayed on the wall shelves. The packaging is really nice as well. So it makes you wanna buy every piece at once. I bought two dark chocolate bars: stroopwafel & speculaas and hazelnut pistachio flavors. None of bars tasted like that. In reality they didn’t have any taste or flavor at all. They just tasted like a regular dark chocolate you buy in a supermarket. One of the worst €10 spent in my life...

Stas Bespolit: Finally we shouldn't go to Belgium for fine chocolate, quality and variety already here.Try strong version of hot cacao.

Vanroselen Fine Chocolates: what do users think?

Catherine Francis: Finest of chocolates. Rum chocolates were really good. Must try

Nathan Ayres: Great shop with a good selection of bon bons and chocolate bars from all over.

Elizabeth Clarke Sarfati: Excellent chocolates. The best I have had and I have had a few!

meyer mezrahi: This is the best chocolate ive ever tried. OMG!!

Vincenzo Mammola: Love it! Very nice place and high quality chocolates. Perfect gift of you are inviting guests or if you are a guests. They mixed box of chocolates are just a delight!
Response: We are so grateful for your 5-star review. Thanks for sharing your rating with us and we hope to see you again!!

Kristoffer Söderlund: A good place for the good kind of chocolate! If you like chocolate it's definitely worth to take a look!

Nikol Popova Dokov: This was probably some of the best chocolate I’ve had in a while, especially in the Netherlands. Their praline selection is amazing. Bonbons are rich and flavourful, even the simple hazelnut praline blew my mind. The staff was also very helpful and pleasant.
Response: Hi Nikol, Thank you for your kind review and we are pleased to hear you loved our chocolate selection as well as your experience with our staff. We hope to welcome you again in our store very soon. Team Vanroselen

Darlene Swindle: If you are looking for a chocolate experience, this is the place! Brigit is a book of knowledge when it comes to chocolate. I now feel like I know more about chocolate that ever before. The chocolate selection is like none I've ever seen and with her knowledge she helped me to find my palate. Who knew there was so much to know about chocolate. If you engage her, she will spend quality time with you to help you find what your palate is. The shop even offers tea to pair with the chocolate your choose! Such a great time spent in her shop and hands down my best shopping experience in Amsterdam. You will be missing a jewel if you don't make a stop by this shop and visit with Brigit.

Gail Goodrick: I bought a small box with a variety of bonbons. I didn't try them until I got home and immediately wished I had bought a larger box. These chocolates are so rich but subtle in flavor. I'd buy them again but unfortunately I'm an ocean and a continent away.
Response: Hi Gail. We are pleased to hear you loved our bonbons! We look forward to welcome you again once you are back in our beautiful Amsterdam. Keep safe and stay health. All the best, Team Vanroselen

james igoe: A small shop on a street for antiques and art, the shelves lined with numerous products, I immediately asked the proprietor what the best items he had were. He replied his own chocolates, not made in the store, but made for him. I bought two of each small chocolate my wife would like, for a total of 12 chocolates, to share. Absolutely wonderful!
