Has a BA in philosophy (1978). He started studying acupuncture at the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston in the US in 1980. His initial teachers were Tin Yau So, Ted Kaptchuk and Kiiko Matsumoto. Since graduation in 1982, he has practiced Japanese acupuncture exclusively, including specialty pediatric treatment methods called ‘shonishin’. He has practiced acupuncture continuously since 1982.


Has a BA in Portugese-Brasilian studies from Sophia University in Tokyo. She began studying acupuncture in 1986 at the New England School of Acupuncture where she learned basic TCM and Japanese acupuncture methods. Among her teachers was Kiiko Matsumoto. She has been practicing Japanese acupuncture continuously since graduating in 1989.

In 2004 I moved to Amsterdam from my hometown Vilnius (Lithuania). Here I was fortunate to meet shiatsu masters Eloise Sewell and Kazunori Sasaki. I graduated in 2012 at the Iokai Shiatsu school in Amsterdam and have been actively practising Shiatsu since, In 2016 I started teaching at the school as well.

Goal is to promote vibrant good health for adults and children using pain-free, non-invasive, traditional Japanese Acupuncture and body therapy methods.

Treatments generally last for one hour and the whole body is treated in accordance with our holistic attitude. The entire body is assessed, along with emotional and spiritual connections. Patterns of imbalance are examined. Pulse and abdominal diagnosis also play a large part in weighing up the client health. The process of treatment is then explained to the client, along with their standing diagnosis. Therapy can then begin.

We use only the finest Japanese-style needles are used. These are single-use only, sterilized stainless steel needles, which are considerably thinner than their Chinese counterparts (up to 10 times thinner). Thinner needles and techniques specially developed in Japan allow for negligible discomfort during treatment. The usual response is one of relaxation, which allows the healing process to progress uninhibited.​​

What should I wear for the treatments?​Wear loose fitted, comfortable clothing. You might want to bring a tank top and shorts to allow the acupuncturist easy access to the body. Most of the points needled are on the torso and limbs, below the elbows and knees. Exceptions are for pain, where local points will be used in the affected area, such as the shoulder.​

Acupuncture therapy has a very good success rate (80-90%) with a variety of conditions. So there is a good chance that you fall within this success rate.


It is made up of the nerve fibers that branch off from the spinal cord and extend to all parts of the body, including the neck and arms, torso, legs, skeletal muscles and internal organs.

What the Chinese have discovered many years ago (without any knowledge of the nervous system), the pathways of the nerves and the nerve bundles and named them the meridians.

Acupuncture points are placed along these pathways, near to the superficial nerves. They are the so-called "switches" of the nervous and the skeletal system and trigger the SELF-HEALING mechanism. It promotes the tissue generation and the renewal of the diseased tissue.

Cupping is a deep-tissue therapy which can also help release toxins, clear blockages, and refresh veins and arteries within the treated areas.
